Maui is filled with places to see, and things to do. Here's a quick sampling of some "must do" things during your visit.

Lahaina

Lahaina was the capital of the Hawaiian Kingdom from the early 1820's until 1845. During the 1840's, Lahaina was the major whaling port of the Pacific. Today's Lahaina is both a busy shopping area as well as a city filled with the culture of old Hawaii.

Beyond the many shops and galleries in Lahaina, allow yourself the time to seek out the historic sites including the Baldwin Home, the famous Banyan Tree and the Maria Lanakila Church. Look for Lahaina Historical Guide which is available at the Visitors Center in the Courthouse near the Banyan Tree.

Lahaina	Haleakala	Maui Ocean Center

Haleakala
Don't skip beautiful Haleakala and Upcountry Maui. This begins in Kahului at the Haleakala Highway. The drive to the top of Haleakala takes about 2½ to 3 hours depending on the weather and traffic. Your journey will take you through beautiful wooded landscapes and pastures with cattle grazing on the mountainside.

Maui Ocean Center
Make sure you visit Hawaii's newest and best marine aquarium. Explore the Living Reef and other exhibits such as Turtle Lagoon, a Touch Pool, and the Sting Ray Cove.
